Providing timely and accurate information to the public is vital. The Benton County Fire District 2 maintains a staff of firefighters who also are on-call Public Information Officers (PIO). Our PIO is there to provide timely information to the public and to work with reporters during and after major incidents.
One of our desired outcomes are to use breaking news as an opportunity for the members of our community to learn how to keep a similar emergency from happening to them.
Our local news media including television, radio and newspapers and internet provide the most important and effective way of quickly getting timely information to the public.
We release information to the media and general public as quickly as possible, often in a variety of formats such as Twitter and Facebook. Requests from the media should be sent to PIO@bcfpd2.org.
