Benton County Fire District #4 says overnight, fireworks started a brush fire in the area of Belmont and W. Van Giesen St. in West Richland. Flames burned about 5 acres. Fortunately, no one was hurt and no property was damaged.

Fire crews say the brush fire along Chandler Ridge near Benton City scorched about 4,000 acres Thursday night. Benton County Fire District #2 says 15 districts responded to fight the fire Thursday afternoon.Crews say they used air support as well to help battle the blaze.
